All Reading Libraries Reopen as Palmer Park Library Returns this Week

  • Palmer Library is now due to reopen this Wednesday 19 May, initially for 3 hours per week, from 1-4 pm
  • From Wednesday all Reading Libraries will have returned
  • The service is working hard to reopen fully as soon as possible

  • Whitley Library in south Reading is now due to reopen this Thursday, initially for 3 hours per week, from 1-4 pm
  • Further branches to reopen at Southcote and Palmer Park in May.

Children invited to ‘Share a Story’ for World Book Day

  • Theme of World Book Day this year is 'Share a Story', Reading Library Service wants to encourage children of all ages to come together and share the joy of reading for pleasure
  • They can enjoy a specially commissioned ‘story hunt’ from local storyteller, John Kirk, in celebration of the Abbey’s 900th anniversary this year
  • Any children’s books borrowed from Central, Caversham or Tilehurst Libraries during March will include a World Book Day Token (whilst stocks last).
