Raise your voice for Let’s Sing 2024!

Let’s Sing Reading open to all vocalists as it returns for 2024

  • Mayor of Reading's annual choir competition will now also feature soloists, duets, and groups
  • Live final at the Hexagon will raise money for the Mayoral charities

VOCALISTS from across Reading are invited to submit their entries to The Mayor of Reading’s annual choir competition, as it expands to also welcome applications from local soloists, duets, and singing groups.

The competition will again be in aid of the Mayor’s chosen charities for 2023/24, Reading Refugee Support Group, and Reading Stroke Support Group.

The contest is divided into three age categories and a panel of judges, including Reading Mayor, Cllr Tony Page, will select up to 6 entrants from each category. Successful finalists will be part of the grand Let’s Sing final, performing live on The Hexagon stage on Tuesday 26 March.

A winner will be selected in each category, and an overall winner on the night will be presented with a special Let’s Sing trophy by the Mayor.

Cllr Tony Page, Mayor of Reading, said:

“The annual competition is a real highlight in the Mayoral calendar. I’m very pleased this year to be welcoming applications from vocalists of all kinds, thereby shining a light on the wealth of talent we are lucky to have in Reading.

“If you’re thinking about applying, I’d strongly encourage you to take a chance and join in the fun, all while helping to raise important funds for two causes very close to my heart.”

The judging panel will select which participants will go through to the live final and overall winners will be revealed at the event on 26 March.

Singers of any kind from across the Borough can complete the short application form at: www.reading.gov.uk/leisure/things-to-do/letssingreading/.

The closing date for entries is 19 February 2024.
