Have Your Say on Crime and Safety in Reading

Reading residents are being asked to take five minutes to complete an important Community Safety Survey that has recently opened.

The survey, launched by the Council on behalf of the Community Safety Partnership, can be found at www.reading.gov.uk/2025communitysafetysurvey and is available to complete before 31 August.

The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is a partnership between Reading Borough Council, Thames Valley Police, the Probation Service, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the NHS to make Reading a safer place for those who live in, work in, or visit the town and ensure crime and disorder is tackled effectively.

Responding to this year’s Community Safety Survey allows residents to directly inform and help shape future strategies to make Reading safer, and to influence future decisions on where limited resources should be focused. The majority of residents may not have been directly affected by crime but will still have concerns about their own personal safety and the safety of their family and friends, so their views are still an important consideration for the Council.

The responses provided in this year’s survey will be compared against last year’s survey responses to help the CSP identify trends and work on plans to address them.

“Along with our Thames Valley Policing partners, we are delivering a variety of measures aimed at making people feel safer in Reading through a reduction in crime and ASB in our town.

We know we can always do more to improve safety, and to do that we need input from residents to tell us where to focus our resources going forward. Please take five minutes to click on the survey and inform our work so we can keep pushing forward the best initiatives that we are able to action to make Reading a safer place for you”.
