Whiteknights Road Repairs Begin Next Week

REPAIRS to the road surface on a section Whiteknights Road will take place next week.

The improvement works, which consist of substantial areas of patching and resurfacing, will begin on Tuesday May 28th along Whiteknights Road, between its junctions with Upper Redlands Road and Holmes Road. The works are scheduled to last four days and have been timed to take place during the half-term holiday in order to minimise disruption, when traffic levels are usually lower. Whiteknights Road will be closed between 8am and 6pm from Tuesday May 28th until Friday May 31st inclusive. Whilst the road is closed parking will not be allowed and any parked vehicle may be removed. Access for residents along Whiteknights Road will be maintained, where this is possible and safe. Access for residents in Green Road will be via Wokingham Road, as the bollards will be removed during the times of the road closure each day. The Council has written to residents in the area giving advance notice of the works.

Councillor Tony Page, Reading Borough Council’s Lead Member for Strategic Environment, Planning and Transport, said:

“These improvement works will inevitably result in a certain amount of inconvenience and therefore I’d like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation and patience.”
