The night’s main award, Sports Personality of the Year, is also known as the Richard Burns Memorial Trophy and honours Reading-born British rally driver Richard Burns who sadly died in 2005.
The judging panel is now carefully sorting through the nominations ready to announce the winners at a special award ceremony at the Hilton Reading Hotel on 10 December.
