GCSE results day

Reading students collect GCSE results

  • Students collecting GCSE results on Thursday morning
  • Elevate careers service on hand to offer support
  • Lead member wishes all good luck in the future

Young people in Reading who sat GCSE exams this summer will be collecting their results this morning and planning their next steps. Vocational technical qualification (VTQ) students will also be receiving their results this week.

While the majority will be pleased with their grades, Reading Borough Council's Elevate careers service will be available to provide advice and guidance on progression into education, training and employment for anyone who requires support.

You can call 0118 937 3766, call, text or WhatsApp 07980 744530 or 07889 148132, or email elevate@reading.gov.uk if you have any questions about your next steps.

We also offer face-to-face appointments at a range of locations across Reading to discuss your options with one of our careers advisers.

Cllr Rachel Eden, Lead Councillor for Education and Public Health at Reading Borough Council, said:

“A huge well done to everyone receiving results this morning. You should be incredibly proud, and I hope you are happy with your results, but if you need any guidance, our careers service is on hand to offer support.

“Whether you move on to sixth form, college, employment or an apprenticeship, we wish you the very best of luck.”
