Re-Submission of Reading Golf Club Planning Application

  • A new planning application for residential land at Reading Golf Club is now live
  • Residents advised they need to resubmit comments if concerns have not been overcome by the new application

A NEW outline planning application has been submitted for residential land at Reading Golf Club, following the withdrawal of the previous application.

Residents and all interested parties are advised that they should consider the new proposals afresh, and if their concerns have not been overcome by the new application, resubmit any comments using the new planning application number. Members of the public must not rely on comments submitted in response to the previous application to make their views known.

The new planning application differs from the previous one by a reduction in the number for dwellings proposed from 260 to 257. Fundamentally however the main elements of the proposed development remain unchanged. The applicant has also submitted additional information to explain its application and to respond to comments and concerns raised with the original application.

The fresh planning application can be accessed and commented on via the Council’s planning portal at  http://planning.reading.gov.uk/fastweb_PL/welcome.asp. The new application number is 210018. The other way to submit comments is by email to Golfclubcomments.planning@reading.gov.uk

Reading Borough Council’s planning team is extending the usual three week window for public comments to six weeks, in recognition of the significant interest in the application and the large number of documents that need to be considered. The closing date for comments is therefore 18th March 2021.

The application and all associated comments will then be considered by the Council’s Planning Application Committee in the Spring.
