Invitation to Free Landlord Information Evening

A FREE Landlord Information Evening is being held at the Civic Offices later this month.

All residential property landlords are invited to attend the event on Thursday 21st November. The National Landlords Association will be giving a presentation on recent and upcoming developments in the sector. A number of optional workshops will be available for landlords to choose from, including HGR Accountancy Ltd, who will be on hand to cover tax updates for landlords. The Rent Guarantee Scheme will offer a Tenancy Toolkit session about how Notices and Rent Increases in Assured Shorthold Tenancies should be drafted and served. There will also be an opportunity for landlords to hear about responsibilities in relation to HMO licensing, changes in Housing Law, and how Reading Borough Council works in partnership with the private sector in providing homes for Reading residents. Guests will have the chance to speak to a variety of teams from the Council and there will be plenty of opportunities for networking.

Cllr John Ennis, Reading’s Lead Councillor for Housing, who is also attending said:

“The Landlord Information Evening is a great opportunity for property landlords to get some essential advice from professional bodies and experts. “It is also an ideal way of networking with other landlords and having an informal chat with Council officers from a variety of different areas. “The private rental sector is very important in Reading and I hope many landlords take advantage of this valuable free event.” The Landlord Information Evening at the Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU will open at 6pm on 21st November with presentations starting at 6.30pm. All landlords are welcome. To book a place, please email landlord.advice@reading.gov.uk, or phone (0118) 937 2233.
