Hall of Memory Christmas Tree Brings Solace for the Bereaved

READING Council’s Bereavement team is inviting residents to share their memories of loved ones this Christmas.

The Bereavement team, based at Henley Road Cemetery and Crematorium, has installed a beautiful Nordic Spruce Christmas Tree in the Hall of Memory this year. Members of the public are invited to visit and use one of the free Christmas tags available by the tree and write a message to loved ones who have passed to tie on the tree.

Cllr Jason Brock, Reading’s Lead Member for Corporate and Consumer Services, said:

“Christmas can be a time of loneliness for the bereaved and we hope this little gesture will give a sense of hope and togetherness for people who have experienced a loss.” The tree will be available for families in the Hall of Memory from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
